How Avenblu handles account data, saved pool records, and third-party provider workflows
This policy is tailored to the current Avenblu product scope, including authentication, stored dashboard data, Stripe billing state, and third-party directory search providers.
Avenblu
Pool care made simple means practical guidance, clearer language, and enough restraint to tell you when it is time to verify a label or call a professional.
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Avenblu collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use the Avenblu website, dashboard, pool-care tools, and related support channels.
Avenblu is built for homeowners who want help with pool chemistry guidance, reminders, checklists, saved pool profiles, issue diagnosis notes, and local pool service discovery. This policy is written for that product scope and should be reviewed again before any production launch, especially if Avenblu adds analytics, SMS messaging, live business onboarding, or new data partners.
Information Avenblu collects
Avenblu collects information you provide directly, information generated through product use, and limited technical information needed to keep the service secure and functional.
- Account details such as your name, email address, password hash, and sign-in session records.
- Profile and pool information such as home ZIP code, pool size, sanitizer preference, notes, saved pool profiles, water test history, reminders, checklist progress, and diagnosis notes.
- Directory activity such as ZIP searches, selected service filters, and recently saved searches when you use the pool-pro finder while signed in.
- Billing-related information such as subscription status, billing interval, trial state, Stripe customer or subscription identifiers, and related account-level billing events. Avenblu does not store full payment card numbers.
- Technical and security information such as request logs, session cookies, timestamps, and infrastructure-level diagnostics needed to run and protect the service.
How Avenblu uses information
Avenblu uses personal information to operate the service, personalize your dashboard, protect accounts, maintain subscriptions, and improve reliability.
- Create and manage your account, sessions, and account settings.
- Store and display your saved pools, readings, reminders, checklists, diagnosis notes, and recent directory searches.
- Calculate or present pool-care guidance based on the information you enter.
- Provide free and Plus features, enforce plan access, and maintain subscription records.
- Respond to support questions, investigate abuse, debug failures, and keep the service secure.
- Comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce the Avenblu Terms of Service.
Directory searches, ZIP codes, and map data
When you use the pool-pro finder, Avenblu may use the ZIP code or search location you provide to retrieve nearby business information from third-party mapping and places providers. In the current implementation, Avenblu defaults to Geoapify for ZIP resolution and nearby business discovery, while the embedded service map defaults to Leaflet with OpenStreetMap-compatible map tiles.
Avenblu can also support alternate configured providers, including Google Maps Platform, when those integrations are enabled by environment configuration.
Directory results are normalized inside Avenblu so the app can support filtering, saved searches, richer listing cards, and cleaner result pages. Avenblu may also store a short website-derived summary when a business publishes public homepage copy that can be fetched in a lightweight, respectful way.
That normalization or enrichment does not mean Avenblu has independently verified a business, its licenses, pricing, service area, hours, insurance coverage, or availability.
If provider credentials are not configured in a local or development environment, Avenblu can fall back to clearly labeled sample listings. Those fallback records are for development and design purposes only.
Cookies and local storage
Avenblu currently uses essential session cookies to keep signed-in users authenticated and to secure dashboard access. Those cookies are required for core account functionality.
Avenblu does not currently rely on advertising cookies. If analytics, marketing tags, or optional personalization cookies are added later, this policy should be updated before those technologies are enabled.
Billing and payment processing
Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe. When you subscribe, Stripe receives billing and payment information necessary to process the transaction, handle renewals, and support customer billing management. Stripe processes that information under its own terms and privacy policies.
Avenblu receives and stores only the billing information it needs to manage plan access and account state, such as plan selection, billing interval, trial status, subscription status, Stripe customer identifiers, Stripe subscription identifiers, and billing period dates.
How information is shared
Avenblu does not sell personal information for money. Avenblu may share information only as reasonably necessary to run the service, comply with law, or protect users and the platform.
- With infrastructure, hosting, and database providers that process data on Avenblu's behalf.
- With Stripe for subscription billing, payment processing, billing portal access, and billing-related support workflows.
- With Geoapify, OpenStreetMap-compatible tile providers, Google Maps Platform, or similar mapping providers to perform ZIP or location-based directory searches and map rendering.
- With professional advisers, law enforcement, regulators, courts, or counterparties when disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce rights, or respond to legal process.
- As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or asset sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and lawful transfer requirements.
Data retention
Avenblu keeps account and product data for as long as it is reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain subscription records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal or accounting obligations.
Retention periods may vary by data type. For example, session records can expire quickly, while billing and account history may need to be retained longer for audit or dispute purposes.
Security
Avenblu uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. Examples include password hashing, session controls, server-side access checks, and database-backed persistence rather than unsecured client-only storage for core account records.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. You should use a strong unique password, keep your devices secure, and sign out of shared computers after using the dashboard.
Your choices and rights
You can update account information inside the dashboard, cancel a subscription through the billing flow when available, and contact Avenblu to request access, correction, or deletion of your information where applicable law provides those rights.
Because Avenblu is currently positioned as a US-facing service, privacy rights may vary based on the state or country where you live. Avenblu will review and respond to valid requests in accordance with applicable law.
For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected]. For general support, contact [email protected].
Children
Avenblu is intended for adults who manage residential pool care. It is not directed to children under 13, and Avenblu does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
Avenblu may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates may be communicated through the website, the dashboard, or other reasonable account notices. Your continued use of the service after an updated policy becomes effective means the updated policy will apply to future use of the service.
